Paypal is an electronic e-commerce company situated in the United States operating worldwide online payment system that supports online money transfer and services. Short History of Paypal.

Paypal was established in December 1998 by Confinity (Confinity was an American Software Company situated in Silicon Valley) they founded by Max Levchin, PeterThiel, Luke Nosek and ken Howery.

Paypal was developed as a money transfer platform at Confinity in 1999 financed by John Malloy from Blue Run Ventures. In March 2000 Confinity merged with a company named x.com online banking company owned by Elon Musk. X.com company was renamed Paypal in 2001. In 2002, Board of Members decided to take Paypal Public. Paypal's IPO listed under at $13 per share and ended up generating over $61 Million.

eBay acquired Paypal in July 2002 for $1.5 billion with a valuation of over $23 a share. So eBay auctions accept Paypal payments and almost all users of eBay transact payment via Paypal. Paypal acquired the Veri Sign payment solution in 2005 to expand its e-commerce business and provide added security support.
